Definition of a Wholesale Investor

Arcana Capital only invites participation in investment opportunities by wholesale investors (as defined in the Australian Corporations Act 2001).

To qualify as a wholesale investor you need to satisfy either the Product Value Test or the Individual Wealth Test.

Product Value Test

If you invest at least $500,000 in an Arcana Capital opportunity you are automatically classed as a wholesale investor. You remain a wholesale investor even if your interest subsequently falls below $500,000.

Individual Wealth Test

You qualify as a wholesale investor if you provide a certificate by a qualified accountant stating that you have net assets of at least $2.5 million or gross income for each of the last two financial years of at least $250,000. A certificate issued by an accountant is valid for up to 2 years.

Arcana Capital takes client confidentiality extremely seriously and complies with the Australian Federal Government’s privacy legislation.

Anti Money Laundering / Counter Terrorism Financing

Legal Requirements

As a manager of investor’s funds Arcana Capital must comply with Federal Government legislation designed to prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

Specifically, Australian Anti Money Laundering/ Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) law requires us to undertake certain checks to ascertain the true identity of our customers.

Therefore, if you apply to invest in one of our property investment schemes we will, depending on your investment vehicle, ask you for certified true copies of the following documents:

  • Passports and Drivers Licences for investors/ beneficiaries,

  • Trust Deeds,

  • Company Certificates of Registration, and

  • Company Extracts (with details of Directors and Shareholders)

The Statutory Declaration Regulations (Schedule 2) outline who may certify true copies.
